Hello all! It's time again to start plotting and scheming for our next public shows and events for the remainder of the year, as well as what we want to kick off the new year with in a few months! (My how time flies!)
While I would like to do "something" to round out the year, I also know everyone's schedules get much busier around the holiday season, and there are a lot of competing events we'd be up against. That said, I'm not opposed to another library show or something before the end of the year, but I'm not determined to have one either.
Previously, the folk at PC Doctors had hinted that they would be open to hosting something with us, or inviting us to join in on one of their events. I haven't discussed this in detail with them yet- I also don't want to infringe on their hospitality. I'd prefer to be invited rather than going to them to bother them about when we might get together on things. They've been amazing for us in so many ways already, I certainly don't want to get on their nerves.
Finally (and further out), we may have an "in" at the Evercon Gaming Convention in Wausau that runs from March 4th to the 6th. While they're more focused on tabletop games, they do have a video game section, and have touted hosting retro game setups before. I'm not sure if we'd be a good fit for them, but we have had some communication already, so it is possible the club could have a booth or something there.
Unscheduled events for early next year include a spring "open house" show to take place sometime in Q1, I'll reach out so we can better coordinate dates after the new year. Another event we are likely to be in on is the Stevens Point EgoCon, though the dates, times, and venue haven't been decided as far as I know. Beyond that, I'm already plotting on how we can make an even bigger and better Stevens Point RoboCup show for 2023.
Apologies for the wall of text- there's a lot to look forward to in the days ahead!
