Apple 2gs

Hello,
I got my hands on a 2gs yesterday from BitHistory and I’m wondering if anyone else has done much with these and if there are recommendations for hardware or accessories. I’ve got a floppy emu on order, but beyond that I’m not sure what else I’d like to do other than have a working system I can lug to an Open House.

I had a blast with mine back in the 90's after adding a SCSI hard drive and setting up on a LocalTalk network. Assuming I get one of mine running again, it'd be cool to do some sort of LocalTalk network thing between our machines. It'd show folks that SOME machines back in the day had quite a bit of functionality out-of-the-box.

It really was an impressive machine for its time, even compared to the original Macs.

That would be cool. I have a LocalTalk to Ethernet adapter, although I don’t know if that will work with these.
I was always impressed with how full featured these were. I’m hoping to get this one to be a reasonably functional system.

ReActiveMicro has some neat stuff available for the IIgs. I picked up a couple of the IDE controllers they have, I have yet to install mine, but they make it a lot easier to run software without disk swapping or using a SCSI drive.
They have a controller that will mount images off a compact flash, I’m going to probably get one of those too. Then I need to get it hooked up to the internet. I wish my color classic 2 was still working.
