Sorry for the delay in responding I still haven’t gotten the email situation with the forum figured out.Do you have any other of the Atari 8-bit computers?
The Atari Age site has lots of info on the various systems (just about anything that you could think of).
Here is the link: https://forums.atariage.com/index.php
I have a 800XL and XEGS (XE game system). The 800XL is probably the most common of the 8-bit line.
Are you getting a disk drive with the system? This will let you do a lot more with it besides just playing cartridge games.
Welcome to the world of Atari

I believe I will be getting a disk drive, but I don’t know the working condition of anything (I think I’ll have to find a ac adapter).
Right now I only have a 2600 so this will be interesting. I’m hoping to be able to hook it up to a serial port but we will see.
Thank you for the offer, but I don’t have the computer yet. My parents are bringing it when they are in town (my uncle apparently had it and it’s been in storage since the 90s). I’m over in Green Bay, so it’s also a bit of a hike to most of the open house events. If you are looking for a for an AC Adapter, I've had good luck with 8-bitclassics.com (It's based in Wisconsin). I bought a new power supply for my XEGS computer for about $15.00. They also have video cables. I'm planning on selling off a couple of 8-bit disk drives if you are interested. I need to double check and make sure that they are all in good working order.
I may be coming up to the Open house meeting in Wisconsin Rapids next Saturday. If you are in the area and will be attending, bring the XE along and we can hook it up and make sure it is working before you spend money on anything. If the weather isn't great I may stay home, since I'm down in the Milwaukee area.
