How to get the bottom case off of an iMac?

I recently inherited my fathers old nonworking 1999 iMac G3 (sage? It's green-ish, but definitely not the lime), and while this isn't my first iMac G3, this is the first one I've had a serious problem getting into. The lower housing unscrews fine and the tabs all came free without an issue but it's somehow become "stuck" under the CD module and I can't get enough leverage to move it... or not enough that I don't fear I'll snap the plastic. I've searched around for guides on this, but it seems very few people have this part "stuck" as I do. I have tried wiggling it with a flathead screwdriver and I can get it to budge a little, but nothing substantial enough to get it to move. I thought I might try a few of my cleaners to try and budge it, but thought I'd ask here first in case there's something obvious I've overlooked before I proceed with anything more serious. Many thanks in advance for any insight into this one!

I did get the case off, though it did take two people. My sister and I both took flat head screwdrivers and placed them along the seam on either side where it covers the CD drive, and very slowly "pushed" the plastic apart until it could finally slide free. The thing was actually kinda sticky to the touch.

Just look at that yellow color! 😬

I'm also fairly confident this is a Bondi Blue iMac. It really is just that filthy. I'm not sure what (if anything) can be done to restore it's appearance. At any rate it is working, so it'll likely make an appearance at the next show!
