So I was trying to figure out why the RoboCop 2 game will work in the beat up old Commodore 64, but not in the nicer ones. We'd settled on RoboCop 2 as (out of the trilogy) it seemed the most appraochable, and I maintain that'll be the best game for the RoboCup event, but I could not get the machine to demonstrate for the mayor or the press today.
Only now do I figure it out- the game is a PAL region game, and it works in the PAL region C64 from Germany... but not in any of the machines set up for North American NTSC. Oh boy, I'm going to look like an idiot in front of a whole lot of people!
Oh well, at least 'll be able to patch up the PAL C64 for the event, and then switch the emulators we're using to PAL. Bah, almost foiled by international electricity frequency standards... AGAIN!
