Inside the Personal Computer Pop-Up Book

I recently met up with WCC member @DeanG and he loaned me a very cool book for a spell, and I wanted to share it with all of you. It's a real blast from the past!

I'll have a video about this soon, as it's really cool how it all unfurls- this is definitely one o the most impressive pop-up books I've ever seen.

The keyboard, with one simulated keypress, and an explanation of how the interpreter works. It's clearly written as a means to teach computers to someone who does not have access to one, so this level of clarity is really amazing. If you click the photos, you should be able to zoom in.

The floppy disk drive is wildly impressive.

They included the "interior" of the floppy drive in a pop-up book!

Simply put, it's a marvel of paper engineering in it's own right, and a real treat of old computer terms and designs. Many hanks again to @DeanG for letting us borrow this one for some photos!

Man, that is freaking cool book! I remember @DeanG made a post about it on Facebook and automatically thought what a cool coffee table book that would be! Currently I have a whole collection of old computer related “for Dummies” books that I like to have out as “light reads” when sitting on the couch. But those don’t come even close to this cool book!
