Retro Advertisements

There's something mighty charming about old tech ads. Neat to see what we all know as retro when it was brand new!

I'll kick this thread off with "The might of IBM" which was part of a print ad campaign in 1982 or thereabouts.

A print ad for Electrohome, a Canadian TV manufacturer that saw potential in marketing their TVs as computer monitors, sometime around 1980 or so.

Just in time for Christmas, here's Santa with a spread of things you could buy at Radio Shack in 1984.

The big white robot is an Androbot TOPO (HERE) and the smaller gray one is a Heathkit HERO 1 (HERE).

An advertisement photo for the SEGA Saturn. The text that went over it (per the poster on Tumblr) was something about a "feast" for gamers.

A print ad for the Canon Cat, an unusual machine that tried to "beat" the Macintosh at the "computer as an appliance" thing. Ultimately it didn't catch on, and they are extremely rare today.
