The Sony Giant TV

If you're in the CRT fan space, you've heard people talk about the legendary KX-45ED1 or PVM-4300, a monstrous 45" CRT Sony Trinitron monitor that was the largest CRT TV ever built that consumers could get their hands on. This is a wild story about a rescue of monumental proportions for what is likely the last one on earth.

I had a monster TV a number of years ago. It was a Samsung (i believe this was the model TXS3082 Slim Fit Widescreen 30" HD CRT ).
If I remember right it weighed in at close to 150lbs. It was 1080i but being a 4/3 format it would stretch the picture vertically. Drove my brother crazy when he would come over. When I recycled it, I had to have a friend help lift it down onto a furniture dolly and then rolled it out to my pickup and roll it up a ramp. I just left it on the dolly, tied it down really well and drove it to the recycling center. That was back in the day when I had a truck and the Recycling center didn't charge for TVs. I'd have kept it but it would have had to go down the basement and that would have been a nightmare.
