Time again to discuss what is going on in the WCC for August!

As of this writing, the "Delta" variant of Covid is on the rise, and how municipalities react to that will determine a lot of what we can and can't do for the next few months. I'm hoping for the best, but as usual, planning for the worst. That's not to say our efforts to have another show or two this year are done, but I can't say that I'm optimistic of our odds this season with the world in the state that it's in.

That said, if anyone out there is interested, I'm looking for a possible day when all of us in the Stevens Point area could get together. I'm flexible on what that meeting could be- coffee, lunch, a visit to my garage for some fun with some of the machines- the list goes on, and I'm open to suggestions.

Many thanks all, rock on!

Good news! Sort of. I spoke with the Portage County Library today, and I've learned a fair deal of new information that'll guide us (likely) for the rest of the year.

First, they want to have us and would love to have us in any of their facilities. Usually it would be a simple process to get any number of good sized spaces cleared for our use, but... covid. Their spaces haven't been open to outside groups or organizations since early 2020, and until the covid situation is more in hand that will remain the case. While I'm encouraged that we'll have virtually unlimited space at a number of libraries in Portage county at some point in the (hopefully) near future, it is still disappointing that 2021 has been very much a repeat of 2020 in regards to events. While I have no control over the state of things out there, I do apologize that our ambitious goals set out in May were not realized, and likely won't be realized as planned.

That said, we still have a number of ideas for other events, including the proposed swap meet for sometime in the next month or so. As before I am also open to ideas, suggestions, or feedback on how the club as an organization can better serve all of you and the community beyond.

Many thanks for bearing with me on this one. More news as I have it- rock on all!
