The Wisconsin Computer Club is riding the wave from the RoboCup event to yet more shows and events in the upcoming month of June. As the Covid situation continues to improve, I'm more and more optimistic that we'll be able to hold additional events of a variety of sizes. But, what to do?
Open House Events!
First, we're hammering out a tentative date for our next "Open House" event at a library somewhere in central Wisconsin. I've reached out to several, so we may have shows in multiple places throughout the month. When I know more, so will you.
Game tournaments!
We've had a lot of interest in doing more game tournaments from both club members and the public alike. What we'd play, where, and when are all up for consideration- but as a standalone event we should be able to get space with some of our business partners in town (again, Covid permitting) and run these quickly and easily. A few games suggested include Nintendo Smash, Mario Kart, Golden Eye 64, CounterStrike, Starcraft, and Gauntlet. We're adding more games to the list for consideration, feel free to shout them out in this thread too. When I have a venue figured out, we'll reach out to the club here for a vote and on Facebook- from there we'll determine what we're playing and go from there.
Other Stuff!
I'd very much like to host a workshop event here at the shop, though what we'd do is up for discussion. I've no shortage of project machines we could tinker with though, and perhaps you've got something you'd want to collaborate on too. If anyone is interested, message me.
I think that's about it for the moment. More news to follow!
