5160 from VCF MW

Just a quick note saying thanks for the 5160 you sold me at VCF MW! I was able to use the system board and floppy drive in the 5160 case I already had to make a complete system. I even upgraded the onboard RAM from 256k to 640k! It works great!

Think I will have to abandon the case that came with the system since it was pretty rusty and the faceplate was cracked but the case I have is in better shape.

That's awesome! Glad to see the 5160 got a happy ending after all!

Is that the XT-IDE they sell over at Texelec? I should really invest in some for mine. As cool as the MFM drives are, I don't have enough to go around!

I actually bought it pre-assembled from a guy at VCF MW 2022. I think he assembled it himself. It is a rev 3.

I need another one for my 5170 so I think I may order boards from jlcpcb and make some myself. That is the part of vintage computing I enjoy!
