Golden Vizio

So e had a rather cool 2012-ish Vizio flat screen donated to the club. It had been a daily driver for some time, but was replaced and set in a garage where it has been sitting until now. It still works, and has composite, RF, RGB, and VGA inputs so it's definitely joining the show fleet. However, it's seen some sun and some hard days, so it had turned an uneven shade o yellow over the years. A good cleaning helped, and it was "fine" but I really wanted to give this one a little razzle dazzle like the others have had. So I went through the paints and found the good stuff I had used to make the prototype Stevens Point Robo Cup trophy (we never wound up using that one, thank goodness), and one thing led to another...

I made the "Trash to Treasure" and "Midas Touch" jokes on Facebook already, but I'm sure there are plenty more. It's not a perfect paint job, but for a single coat, that's not too bad either. Whether you love it or hate it, this one does make an impression! 😄

If you want to see it IRL, it's going to be going to VCF Midwest on September 10th to the VCF booth for the weekend. After that, it'll be at the show on October 1st, and I suppose most shows thereafter as there isn't much I can't plug into this thing. Seriously, here's a look at the input panel I took before I painted it:
