Laserdisc Resurrection - Pioneer CLD-D502

I was recently sent this Pioneer CLD-D502 Laserdisc player from fellow club member @JavisG who said it wasn't working quite right. As of this writing I'm just as mystified as he was as to what the problem might be, but this machine is too cool to not try to fix up.

It does power on and runs it's disk check, so I have a feeling that most of the electronics are good. It just doesn't eject or do much of anything else when prompted. Strange!

This is a "Both Side Play' machine that mechanically moves the laser assembly to the other side of the disk, so the user doesn't have to "flip" the disk like you do with most standard Laserdisc players. Here's a demo I found on YouTube of the same model of machine in action.

When I picked up the player it worked just fine with no issues. I shipped it to a buddy of mine and when they got it they said the disc tray wouldn’t eject. I got it shipped back to me and tried to replace the belt thinking that the belt was old and went bad. That didn’t solve the issue and after a couple of hours of messing with it I decided to move on. Hopefully you can get it working because it’s a really great player.
