Macintosh SE/30 Help

Hi everyone!

I picked up a Mac SE/30 from PC Doctors last week and I need help determining what the issue may be. I have the infamous Samasimac screen (zebra like pattern) that happens with some Macs during that time. I replaced all the capacitors on the motherboard, power supply, and analog board for good measure, but the issues remains. Anyways, I am kinda thinking it is either the RAM or ROM which are thankfully all on SIMMs. Would anyone happen to have a spare ROM or RAM that I could borrow to test the machine out on? Or is there any decent replacements that might be out there? Or if anyone has seen this issue before and knows other possible issues that it may be, that would also be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

Sorry, a bit of a quick update! I ended up buying a replacement ROM that also has a bootable version of System 7.0.1 off of Tindie. I'll post a link for those who are interested. I found some spare RAM as well! I figured even if the ROM or the RAM doesn't work, I will still use them for future endeavors. I will keep up with this post with my findings and see if I can get this Mac SE/30 up and running! I am thinking about getting one of those cases from MacEffects to put it in, but don't know if I should instead keep it original in the case it is currently in. Too many decisions!

I had the exact same issue after a clean and recap, it ended up being the ROM. I was able to polish the contacts to get it working again.

Let me know if you need anything! I'm sure I've got some extra pieces if you need em!
