Tamura Lumitime C31 "fake" digital clock

Not really computer related at all (there are no circuit boards in there), but I had the occasion to take apart a vintage Tamura Lumitime digital clock dating from 1978 or so. It uses some clever engineering and a motor to "pretend" to be a computerized digital clock during the narrow twilight period between the mechanical flip-clock era and the digital clocks we have today.

I looked these up, they aren't cheap!

Sorry about Peppa. Might not have noticed if twasn't for the weird UK news. https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uk-pm-johnson-briefly-lost-words-speech-business-2021-11-22/
Yeah, Tamura clocks suddenly became "rare" vintage "collectible" clocks during the Pandemic. You used to be able to grab a decent one for $30-$50, but those days are sadly gone. They're neat clocks for sure, but I can't fathom why they're so expensive now, especially when most that are posted for sale don't even work.

I forgot that was even on there. Now that's an old meme! 😄

Looks like Peppa can add "major political speech" to her list of ruinations.
