WCC Library Show March 2022!

We have our next public show date tentatively set (hoping/assuming the Covid situation improves by then) for Saturday March 26th, 2022, at the Portage County Library Stevens Point Branch! The show will run from 10AM to 4PM, with setup starting at 9 for anyone looking to have a display in the show. If you want space, let me know in advance and I can get you table covers, signs, and other goodies as we have a lot of time to plan and coordinate this one.

Once again there's not really a "theme" to the show, whatever machines or projects you would like to share with the club and the general public are welcome. Unless others are bringing them, I'll have some of the fan favorites and the display I've been working on about e-waste recycling. I'll probably bring the CED player again as that was a big hit last time too.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns; ask away!

See you there!

The library is located at 1001 Main St., Stevens Point, WI, 54481. We'll be in the Pinery room on the ground floor, which is fairly easy to move things into. We found at the last show that it was somewhat easier to get in from the "back" doors facing Main Street than from the front doors facing Clark Street.

Alright, I was a little worried when we didn't get "approved" right away, but with the current Covid situation as it is I have no doubt the library is doing the best they can right now. That said, we are in!

March 26th, 2022- show starts at 10AM (setup begins at 9AM), with the show ending at 4PM (teardown until 5PM). Between myself, a few other members I already know are interested in setting things up, and maybe even YOU I expect we'll have a pretty good show on our hands. 🥳

As before, the library has a few rules about noise, content of displays (leave your Sexy Mouse at home 😉), and a note about their tables getting beat up. Before our last show there, I got a whole array of table covers to assure that no old computers would scratch them up, so if you plan on having a display, let me know so I can get you one of these in a color that suits you.

If anyone has anything they'd like to see at this show, shout it out, as I may be able to make it happen for you.

Tell your friends! Tell your foes! It's going to be a lot of fun! 😄

At long last, I have a final list of equipment that I'll be bringing to the show:

Magnavox Odyssey 2
Atari 2600
Mattel Aquarius
Commodore 64
TRS-80-I
...and a few oddball portable/laptop machines

I'll have some "alternate" machines there as well to swap in, including the Atari 400 and some of the "fan favorites" should we have the room for them after everyone else is set up. This is going to be great!

Are you setting up Friday night or Saturday morning? I can't on Saturday, but could Friday
We only have the room for Saturday, with setup an hour before, and teardown an hour after.

Depending on what you want set up for you, my crew and I can do it so it'd be ready to go for you. The Atari, for instance is already loaded and ready to go.

An immense thank you to everyone who came to the show! It was our best show yet!

Mad props to @PS2it, @DeanG, @Pezdude, and @NJP for bringing in some awesome stuff!

Zach is working on getting the pictures he took (close to 200 from the sound of it) over to me, but in the meantime my sister sent me these she took with her phone.

More to follow!
